the media acclaimed abstrait founder raphaël marionneau to be one of hamburg’s most creative personalities. living in german exile since the early 90s, the abstrait mastermind from nantes, france, invented the couch culture and established this new movement with numerous relaxing events, radio shows and a music label. born in nantes in france, raphaël marionneau moved to hamburg in 1993 and created the event "le café abstrait" at the mojo club in october 1996 where he has been the resident dj. his club etablished itself as the most successful chillout club in germany. raphaël marionneau’s personnal style of music - a mix of ambient, chillout, downtempo, trip-hop, ibiza sounds, oriental and classical music - became a name called the "french chillout".
